CAPA's mission is to prevent and treat all forms of child abuse by creating changes in individuals, families and society that strengthen relationships and promote healing. The Child Abuse Prevention Association helps children and their families overcome the traumatic effects of child abuse, especially in child molestation. CAPA also provides educational programs designed to increase awareness of abuse and how to prevent it as well as providing case management and other support services to help create strong families and decrease the chances of abuse/neglect.
Charlie's House participates in and sponsors community-wide events to provide home safety information. Plans are also underway to raise funds for a safety demonstration house that will provide adults with real-life demonstrations, examples and resources on children's safety.

Kansas City Regional Office (KCRO) supports coordination for parents of children with disabilities such as cognitive disabilities, cerebral palsy, head injuries, autism, epilepsy, and certain learning disabilities. KCRO is the primary point of entry for services in Platte, Clay Ray, Jackson, Lafayette, Cass, Johnson, and Bates Counties. Case management and assistance with advocacy and linkage to other resources is available in each of these counties. KCRO also administers MO waiver funding.
